Tucson Outdoor Recreation
Perhaps the most popular outdoor recreation in Tucson, Arizona is found in the western unit of the Saguaro National Park. Hikers, bikers, and nature lovers of all kinds will find the parks and mountains of southern Arizona spectacular. More interested in spectator sports? The Tucson Raceway Park, Arizona's only asphalt short track, hosts NASCAR events. Nationally televised golf tournaments take place in Tucson; spectators are welcome. The Rillito River Park and Santa Cruz River Park paths are favorites of bicyclists. The Madera Canyon National Forest Recreation Area, about 40 miles south of Tucson, is a bird-watcher's paradise. Sabino Canyon and Saguaro National Park are where wildflowers bloom, especially in April and May. Then there's skiing at Mount Lemmon Ski Valley when the snow is deep enough. Did we mention the dude ranches? There is more than enough to keep the most energetic visitors busy with Tucson outdoor recreation.

It's your choice: bone crunching, frame bending, rocky precipices or gentle, scenic grassland flats. The first challenge can be experienced on either our Redington Pass or Peppersauce Canyon adventures. The alternatives are Gardner Canyon or Dragoons with their scenic landscapes and smooth rides.

Hiking through the Sonoran Desert
Southwestern terrain is both stark and beautiful. Trekking, hiking, or walking, the terrain is the same, and constantly changing. Yes the desert is harsh the rocks unforgiving. Yet the cactus and desert flowers, burbling brooks, and wildlife reveal the tenacity of life and nature's beauty.
